Tree Preservation orders are there to protect your community’s trees!
A Tree Preservation Order (TPO) is an order imposed by the Local Planning Authority (LPA) this protects trees with an amenity value by prohibiting the:
- the cutting down,
- wilful damage
- and wilful destruction
of trees, and although the cutting of roots is not directly covered is potentially damaging thus in the secretary of states view requires permission from the LPA. No work should take place on any tree without first contacting the council and confirming if there is a TPO on a tree first.
D W Tree Services have the knowledge and experience to make TPO planning applications or planning appeals (be it with individual trees, groups, areas of trees, or woodland and conservation areas) as stress free and easy as possible.
